Summary

We break down the state of the Meme economy and make comparisons to what we saw in the 2021 bull cycle. Memes on Solana have strong parallels to the NFT market on Ethereum from last cycle, especially when you compare revenue figures of the top marketplaces like pump.fun to Opensea. We give our thoughts on where we are on the timeline of meme mania and speak about the impacts memes are having on the broader crypto market. This includes methods of launching new projects by leveraging memes as a more user friendly go to market vehicle to onboard community and then adding complexity layers down the road to not off-put sentiment.

Also, when it comes to marketing narratives memes seem to be dominating the mind share so we discuss how we are approaching $NAT from a marketing perspective. Now that $NAT is weeks away from officially becoming Bitcoin’s second subsidy reward coin, how we classify this new coin is important for public perception. Some do not see $NAT as a candidate to fit within the existing market demographic of memes and rather see a new narrative formed around the coin that distinguishes it from the meme asset class due to its technical provenance to DMT and the broader mission of supplying Bitcoin miners with additional subsidy to sustain network security. We discuss our thoughts on this and also the liquidity dilemma when it comes to supporting Bitcoin assets. All sectors of the Bitcoin ecosystem are facing this problem and are actively working toward building solutions that can either bring more liquidity to Bitcoin from other chains or port Bitcoin native assets to other chains like Solana to benefit from those capital markets.

With the ongoing pandemic, Decentraland and Binance join forces to fight COVID-19. At CryptoValley you can donate $10 worth of ETH and get an NFT wearable mask for your avatar. This is just an example of the crypto community coming together in the metaverse to help improve the situation for the real heroes on the front lines, the healthcare industry. In another update in Decentraland, the ability to stream audio has now become a meta called Cyber Jukebox. The Event Calendar has also been updated which will be used as data to feed into the upcoming changes to the world map. Decentraland has also being transparent with their DAO efforts via their new forum. Finally we break down the LAO and how this relates to how Decentraland's DAO could run if the community decides to do it.

In today's very special podcast, we gathered the most influential community members in Decentraland to discuss some of the most important topics that the community has. Since Decentraland is on its way to being completely decentralized, community members are going to have to step  and point the direction the metaverse should head towards. One of the more important subjects is improving Decentraland's secret weapon, the SDK. Another important subject is discussing the details of the Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO) and what's the best way to interact with it. One topic that gets discussed often is how the DAO will handle wearables and if anyone in the community can make them. Please watch or listen as the community begins to steer the ship on the direction of the metaverse.

We're in the early phases of the worldwide pandemic, we go over some of the after effects of the Coronavirus. Decentraland provides an opportunity for many by providing an ability to meet in the metaverse. Coinfest is a conference that was canceled due to the virus and their hosting several venues in Decentraland and one of them is MetaZone. After releasing 4 games in Decentraland, we're in the middle of development on our fifth game called Corona Zombies! We talk about the current stage of the game and some future updates that could occur when we get the community to play. Another iteration would be an RPG version of zombies where it'll take a collective group to take down the horde! Finally, we showcase some of the new creators submitting their work into MetaZone.

Summary

With the world collectively being affected by the Corona Virus, we give you our thoughts around how the global pandemic will affect the world economy. Bitcoin lost about 40% in a single day and we even saw a price below $4k, but ultimately, this is an asset worth keeping an eye on. The world economy is hanging in the balance, the government has cut interest rates to almost 0% and  quantitative easing is the last shot in their chamber. These moves by the government could lead to a recession if not a depression at an scale not seen since 1929. While everyone stays in to work from home, we do the same and encourage all game developers to hop into Decentraland to build anything from games to 3d models of anything for landowners. With MetaZone marketplace growing, there are a number of landowners ready to purchase. The most valuable creations are ones that can allow landowners to make passive income. One of the way we propose to support any game is with a no-loss sponsorship by using compound interest to pay the prizes.
