In Episode 317 of The Block Runner Podcast, hosts William and I-man unpack why this Bitcoin cycle felt like a failed rocket launch, how unrealistic expectations soured market sentiment, and what Bitcoin's diminishing returns mean for miners and the long-term security budget.
They then dive into the real world asset wave sweeping crypto: graded sports cards and Pokemon moving on-chain, Meteora and OpenSea entering the RWA arena, and what past collectible bubbles, from tulips to trading cards, teach us about speculative media.
Finally, they share NAT.fun updates: the second rocket launch, a move toward systemic periodic launches, fame-score based caps, and ten thousand dollars up for grabs for creators.
Disclosure: The hosts are founders of NAT.fun and hold positions in assets discussed. Nothing in this episode is financial advice.

We follow up on our last podcast on China’s cryptocurrency. We discuss whether the masses will use any country sponsored digital currency and how a China developed digital currency will more likely compete with Facebook’s Libra currency. With all the social media dapps that spring up, we discuss how the future of earning money could change as a result. The Twetch app is another example of how one can earn some income by posting on a Twitter style dapp where users own their own content and get paid because of it. When it comes to income, automation is accelerating at a staggering pace. We wonder what alternative that is better than UBI to provide a source of income for those displaced by automation. EOS is dominating blockchain activity compared to their competitors, we discuss how this is possible with the evidence that is contradicting.
William and Iman recap the progress of our podcast and we evaluate our enthusiasm for the show. We summarize our thoughts on this journey and we discuss our previous podcasts and interviews we had. We’re working on scheduling an interview with John McAfee to get a run down on his thoughts on a wide range of topics. A question I don’t see come up at all is how much Universal Basic Income is too much UBI? We also have many questions surrounding artificial intelligence and we want to encourage anyone in the field to come talk with us and explain how it works. In a video with Max Keiser, he discusses how China has been accumulating good in preparation for a gold backed cryptocurrency that could bypass any dependency on the current world reserve currency.
William and Iman join Franky Needles on a live-stream to discuss developments and updates on Decentraland and Somnium Space. We discuss the differences, criticisms and benefits of each platform and why these types of games will become very successful and potentially lucrative for the early contributors. We also wanted to join Franky because he is the first to purchase a meta from our MetaZone app and has deployed it in Decentraland. We wanted to make a point to thank Franky for supporting us so we can continue building useful tools for the community to use. Shout out to @ FrankyNeedles !
William and Iman interview Nodari Kolmakhidze, the Chief Investment Officer of Cindicator. Their product combines crowd sourced predictions with their custom artificial prediction engine. Human forecasters are asked to predict upon certain markets along with a confidence level. Those that turn out to be correct are rewarded with CND tokens. According to a report between 2018 and 2019 the Hybrid Intelligence indicators have been 60% - 70% accurate. Traders have another tool in their arsenal to help make predictions where access to the indicators require staking CND tokens to view the Hybrid Intelligence predictions.
William, Iman and Oscar gather again to close out the Game Jam updates. We go over what place we got in the comptetion and we also go through the top 3 winners. The Decentraland community is its greatest asset and the community needs to develop ways to encourage players to continuously return to the game. Without this incentive, developing for decentraland is unsustainable. Our contribution, Metazone, focuses on providing an easy way for land owners to deploy content to their land without the hassle of deployment that currently exists. We also discuss Lebron’s statement on punishing Daryl Morey for his tweets that support Hong Kong.
